Introduction
A hallmark of Breitling’s horological involvement in the aviation industry, the Breitling Chronomat has stood as a beacon of horological excellence since its inception in 1941. Originally created for the scientific and engineering community, the Chronomat boasted its pioneering slide-rule bezel, an innovative feature designed to aid in complex calculations. This distinctive characteristic not only underscored Breitling's commitment to functionality but also marked the Chronomat as a forerunner in the realm of tool watches. Then in 1983 Breitling decided to revive the collection, specifically for pilots, an industry it has made a magnificent impact on, through its collaborations with Frecce Tricolori, an aerobatic demonstration team of the Italian Air Force and others.Today, the Breitling Chronomat continues to embody the brand's pioneering spirit, combining timeless elegance with unmatched precision. Its design, featuring a robust case, intricate dial layouts, and the signature onion crown, appeals to both aviation professionals and watch enthusiasts alike. Offered here we have an 18kt yellow gold example of the Chronomat ref. K13050.1 from the 1990s on a robust 18kt yellow gold bracelet with a stunning white dial that encapsulates this particular example’s exceedingly luxurious aesthetic with its golden subdials that pay tribute to its hefty construction.
